Technical Support - Windows NT4 Dial Up Networking
This document will help you manually configure Windows NT4 to connect
to RYA Online using Dial-Up Networking. Please read the entire document before
attempting to connect.
Creating and configuring a dial up connection to RYA Online
Double Click My Computer and then Double Click Dial Up Networking.
If you have already installed Dial Up Networking, and all you need to do is create the Dial-up Connection, then click here, if not then continue with the process below.
If you have not yet installed Dial-Up Networking you will be prompted to do so when you double click the Dial-Up Networking icon in My Computer.
When you double click the icon, the following screen will appear.

Select the modem you have currently installed from the drop down box and click OK.

Make sure that your modem is highlighted and click Continue.

Now your Dial-Up Networking is installed. Once you
restart your computer, go back into My Computer and then Dial-Up
Networking to create your RYA Online Connection.
How to create a connection on NT
Go to My Computer and find Dial-Up Networking.
Click OK to add an entry.
Type Mistral Internet for the connection name. After you
have entered the name of the dial-up connection you should click the Next button.
This will take you to the second stage of the wizard, as shown below.

In this window you should only tick the box by "I am calling the Internet".
This is very important as it determines how details will be sent on to us when
connecting. After you are finished with this screen you should again click
the Next button.

In this screen you should enter the 0845 028 8888 as the
phone number you need to dial to connect to us. Click Next to
go to the following stage.

In this screen, check the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) radio
button. Click Next, this will bring up the screen shown below.

This should be left on none. Click Next,
this will bring up the next screen of the wizard.

This screen should be left as it is shown. Click Next to
bring up the next stage.

Make sure that the two boxes in this window are both set to 0.0.0.0,
then click Next.

On this screen you just click Finish to finish the wizard.
Click the More button then select Edit edit entry
and modem properties entry as shown below

After selecting this option you will be presented with another screen. Click
the tab that says Server.

You should make sure that the screen you have in front of you is exactly as
shown in the screenshot above, then click TCP/IP Settings.

Check that Server assigned IP address and Server
assigned name server addresses are both selected.
Now click the OK button until you are back to the screen
where it says Dial at the bottom of the window. When you are
back to this screen click Dial.
Enter your username and password. Make sure there is nothing in the Domain: field.
After clicking OK the modem or ISDN Terminal Adapter should
dial and you should connect successfully to us.
