1. I've already got a broadband modem, will I need another one to connect to your service?
If the broadband modem that you have is in working condition, you will not require another one to connect to our services. You are always welcome to accept the free modem when you are signing up, even if you already have one.

2. What does a MAC Key look like?
MAC Keys always follow a similar format and will look something like this: FTIP12345678/XY32Z. The beginning of the code will always start with FTIP of BBIP then followed by six or eight digits, slash (/) and five more digits which can either be letters or numbers.

3. When should I cancel my old service?
For a migration to be successful, you must still have broadband (ADSL) on your line from your old ISP. Thus you should officially cancel your old service after you have successfully been migrated to RYA-Online.net. Most service providers will automatically cancel your services after you've migrated away - however it's best to contact them directly to ensure that this has occured.

4. Will I lose broadband service whilst I switch over?
When you switch providers using a MAC (Migration Authorisation Code), you should experience little to no time where you are without broadband service. We will let you know when we will transfer your service over to us and on that day you will simply need to change your Internet Connection settings.

5. My current provider won't give me a MAC Key! What can I do?
If your current provider has signed the OFCOM Voluntary Code of Practice, they cannot withhold a MAC Key from you; even if you still owe them money against your account. If you're in the unique position of being with a provider who cannot or will not supply you with a MAC, please contact us and we can discuss the best way of switching providers.

We do not charge any fees if you migrate to us and wish to switch speeds from that which you have with your old provider.
